Short Term Missions

Short Term Missions

Short-term missions are opportunities for Stonebrook members to affect the lives of those who are less fortunate in other countries or in disadvantaged areas of the US. Stonebrook has participated in mission trips to El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, the Ukraine, Amsterdam, Uganda, Seattle, Grand Forks North Dakota, the inner city of Minneapolis and areas of Louisiana ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Mission trips vary in purpose depending upon the need of the people we are serving and the skills of those going. Some trips concentrate on physical needs, such as housing or medical needs or other social needs. Other trips make sharing the good news of Christ the primary focus. The goal of every trip is to love people and to draw them closer to the Lord.

Mission trips tend to be life changing for those who participate, as they see the hand of God in action in and through their lives.

In El Salvador, Stonebrook sent teams for many years to help the Child Development Center in Guayabo. The teams helped with construction of the center, teaching children, and reaching out to the community with the gospel.

Small teams have gone to Nepal in recent years, to help missionaries in the capital city, Kathmandu. The Missionaries work with Run Global, an organization who’s focus is to bring the gospel to unreached people groups.

Short term mission trip participants are needed as well as leaders to help organize and coordinate the team.
