Women’s SIP! Jan. 23 – Please join us Saturday Morning, January 23rd @ 10am, for the first SIP! of the new year. Women’s Ministry is continuing the theme of “It is Well with my Soul” by focusing on the area of Depression through Biblical principles, tools, and resources. Our time together will also be the kickoff to our next Bible/book study on Depression, more details to come. Grab a cup of coffee or hot tea and log into Zoom for an enriching and encouraging time of teaching and fellowship. We look forward to seeing you there, Dear Sisters!

Nursery Volunteers for Spring – Liz Crimmins is looking for nursery volunteers for 2021 and is looking for people willing to serve the youngest in our church congregation and their families. No previous experience required and the only things you need to do to get started are reading a couple documents and filling out a background check. It doesn’t matter if you can serve for one Sunday or would like to get into a rotation for once a month. We would love to have you either way. If you are interested in signing up or have any questions, please email Liz at lizcrimminsisu@gmail.com or call/text her at 515-302-1325. Thanks for your prayerful consideration!

Snack Donations for Meeker/Mitchell Schools – Kate Mitchell and Meeker Elementary schools would greatly appreciate your help once again supplying snacks during their students’ long mornings of work. They are low on supplies and need to stock up on individual sizes of the following items: Goldfish, Cheez-It crackers, granola bars, Teddy Grahams, graham crackers, fruit snacks, boxes or individual cereals (Cheerios, Honeycomb, Frosted Mini Wheats, Alphabits, etc.), pretzels, sandwich crackers (cheese is a favorite, but peanut butter also good), Chex Mix. Single serving sizes only! Thanks for all you do to help support students in need. There will be a collection box in the foyer for the next three weeks.

Thank You from Angel Tree – Thank you to everyone who participated in the Angel Tree Ministry this year. As a result of your caring and extreme generosity we were able to serve 34 children.

Again, Zondervan Publishing is partnering with Angel Tree to distribute “Adventure Bibles” to the Angel Tree families who do not already have one.

Since 1982, when a former prisoner named Mary Kay Beard launched the first Angel Tree Christmas, (Stonebrook has been involved for at least 21 years), you and many other generous friends have partnered with Angel Tree to bless prisoner’s children at Christmastime. Through your generosity, each child receives a gift card, the Gospel, and a handwritten note from their incarcerated parent.

Again, thank you and God Bless you, Angel Tree Team

Parent and Teen Ministry – PTM will be meeting at the church on Wednesday from 6:50-8:30 p.m. This Wednesday we will have a Q & A time and talk through the plan for the new semester. We hope to see you there! Teens and their parents are welcome to attend. Please email Tim Hibbing (thibbing@gmail.com) with any questions.

This Week’s Sermon:  Pastor Brad will begin a new series on Stewardship by preaching on “Stewardship of Money.” Slavery—one person owning another—is an abhorrent thought. There is a sense where God owns us, for we belong to him. But God’s ownership is in stark contrast with human ownership, for we are his treasured possession, bought with the blood of his Son. And in this loving ownership, he calls us to use our lives for his purposes, to steward every part of our lives out of love for him. In week one of our miniseries on Stewardship, we will look at ways to steward our money for the One who died for us and was raised.

Weekly Memory Verse – Titus 2:14 ESV “Jesus Christ…gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”
