Romans 8:26-27

Romans 8:26-27

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” – Romans 8:26-27

I was scheduled to write for the woman’s blog last week, but I was hardly able to put my mind together. In addition to experiencing worsened chronic pain and fatigue, I found myself very low in my spirit.

Proverb 18:14 says, “A man’s spirit can sustain sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?” I encountered very well how terrible it felt when my spirit was failing. I heard the groaning inside and needed prayers but did not even know what I should ask people to pray for.

Well, God knows. He laid my needs on the hearts of two sisters, who did not know in detail what I was going through, and they sent out prayer requests almost at the same time- including one posted in last week’s blog by Dawn. Seldom have I experienced before how quickly and powerfully God answers prayers. Within a day after the prayers were sent, I started to see how God was working.

Through conversations with a couple of friends, I found God opening a new door to treat my health that I would not have considered possible or realistic a week ago. It is still not clear how the plan will look like and what will be the outcome, but I know that he is leading the way and conquering my doubts. In addition, God brought Romans 8:26-27 to my mind and I was able to pour out my heart to God with my sadness, burdens, and fears. After much groaning before the throne of grace, I found my spirit refreshed and lifted up. Ladies, thank you for your faithful and powerful prayers. Thank you, God, for giving us the precious gift of Holy Spirit, who is interceding for us.
