Hebrews 10:1-18 Bible Study Questions

  1. For what reason can the law never make perfect those who draw near to worship?
  2. The sacrifices were an annual reminder of what?  What is Christ’s sacrifice a reminder of?  
  3. The second half of verse 2 says “For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.”  Why do Christians sometimes continue to struggle with feelings of guilt even in light of Christ’s sacrifice?
  4. What can we learn about the God the Father and God the Son from verses 5-10?
  5. How will the enemies of God be made Jesus’ footstool?
  6. Explain what it means for believers to “be” made perfect forever and at the same time are “being” made holy.  In other words, how does justification and sanctification work together?
  7. Through Jesus, what covenant does God make with his people?  What part do believers play in this covenant and how do we personally know we have the promises of this covenant?
